About Kale

Kale is a leafy green vegetable that belongs to the cabbage family (Brassica oleracea), which also includes broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts. It has dark green or sometimes purple leaves that can be curly or flat, depending on the variety. Kale is believed to have originated in the eastern Mediterranean and has been cultivated for thousands of years. It grows best in cooler climates and is often harvested in the fall or early winter, when its flavor can become milder. The plant is hardy and can tolerate frost, and its leaves are typically harvested individually while the plant continues to grow.
