About Coconut

A Fruit, a Nut, and a Seed

Coconuts are large tropical fruits that grow on coconut palm trees, which are commonly found in coastal regions around the world. The fruit has a hard, fibrous outer husk and a hard inner shell that contains both coconut water and white edible flesh. Coconuts are believed to have originated in Southeast Asia or the Pacific Islands and have been an important food source in tropical cultures for centuries. The flesh can be eaten fresh or dried, and the liquid inside is naturally occurring coconut water. Coconuts are harvested year-round and are well adapted to warm, humid environments.
